The epitome of ethereal beauty

There’s something so empowering, so refreshing and so compelling about an editorial that chooses to highlight femininity by merely focusing on the ethereal and the lady-like of elements that it instantly gains a dreamlike quality. No more reading between the lines, no need of antagonistic juxtapositions, as delicacy, warmth and lightness work in further carrying a message that once got lost in translation.

Joanna Kustra evoked the sublime beauty in a photo shoot that gave new meanings to modern femininity. Personifying the muses, Marie H and Marijn got to experience a delicate make-over fit for a perfectly memorable day. Dressed to impress in dainty lace dresses, heavily embellished garments and sheer, floaty frocks selected by stylist Ewa Michalik, the models seemed rather pulled out straight of a fantasy.

Textured side braids, perfectly slick wet hair styles and the flawless glossy curls envisioned by Kasia Fortuna, complemented the delicate eye-shadows, the bold cat-eyes and the glossy lips created by Erica Schlegel. Ludique lingerie campaign: playing upon fantasies

Long live the spirit of Madame Pogany, woman, muse, courtesan and as of lately, source of inspiration for both the dreamlike Ludique spring 2013 collection and campaign. If the look book introduced us to each and every single one of the intriguing, provocative and alluring pieces of lingerie, the campaign takes the concept a step further, by placing the bold ensembles straight into a living fantasy.

Delia Tudose embodies pure temptation, captured by the lenses of photographer Vali Barbulescu as the outstanding duo strives in exceeding the extraordinary results that so far define their evolving collaboration. A game of lights and shadows, mystery and sensuality, Ludique’s “Madame Pogany” campaign appears as channeling a distinct sex-appeal, by mirroring the past while looking straight to the future.

The equally ravishing cat eyes and pink lips envisioned by Alexandra Craescu add to the bold fantasy, while the intricate braid created by Nika Karp complements the lingerie by adding a contrasting, fairy-tail like quality to it. Wildfox summer 2013: pin-up girl heaven

Wildfox are masters of themeing, and for thir summer 2013 look book – “Hello, Sailor!” – they’ve given one big nod to the cheesecake days of the 1950s. Valerie Van Der Graaf plays out all the retro pin-up girl cliches to perfection: there’s the aloha prints and ukilale, ice-cream sundays and ballet slippers, cowgirl, farmgirl, nautical babe and nurse. And with each new character she just seems to get cuter and cuter.

Shot by Wildfox’s Kimberley Gordon, it’s a tribute to vintage pin-up art that’s playful and yet sincere – and you can’t help but love it.
